Mission: The Awards Council is responsible for ISPOR’s overall strategic direction for awards and recognition, establishing the criteria and selection processes for all ISPOR awards.
The Awards Council recommends award recipients for Board approval. The Awards Council may recommend additional awards, changes to current awards, or removal of awards to the Board of Directors for consideration.
Current awards include:
- Avedis Donabedian Outcomes Research Lifetime Achievement Award
- Marilyn Dix Smith Leadership Award
- Bernie O’Brien New Investigator Award
- LMIC Health Economics and Outcomes Research Excellence Award
- Award for Excellence in Methodology in Health Economics and Outcomes Research
- Award for Excellence in Application in Health Economics and Outcomes Research
Deadline to Apply: June 1, 2022
Elections/Selection: The incoming ISPOR President selects the Awards Council Chair-Elect with the approval of the Board of Directors. The Chair-Elect should have served as a member of the Awards Council as a member for at least 1 term.
The Awards Council Chair, in consultation with the Award Council Chair-Elect and Past Chair, selects the Council members.
Requirements: Awards Council Chair and members must be ISPOR members with ISPOR leadership experience serving on special interest groups, task forces, councils, committees, regional groups, or the Board of Directors.
Estimated time commitment: 40 hours annually with most work being accomplished in July and August.
